One year ago, the Penn Cove Taproom in Freeland opened its doors to the public, and ever since, we’ve been amazed by the outpouring of support and good will the community has shown us. During the past year of operation, we’ve paid careful attention to what our customers are ordering, and we keep hearing the same two requests: wheat beers and fruit beers. So we developed a beer that was a representative of Freeland in the summer as the ever present blackberry brambles that line the roads and trails throughout town: Beverly Beach Blackberry Wheat. This wheat ale was made with Whidbey grown malt and real, locally sourced blackberries. It offers a pleasant aroma of blackberry jam, with a flavor that is a subtle dance of rich wheat and tart blackberry. Join us in raising a pint to another year of great beer!
